Open Question: Why do i feel this way about my future?

im a guy at the age of 16. I got to a prestigious school where your told you will achieve. My future is close but yet so far from my dreams. Like, i want to go to college, i want to start a family but i don't want to work a confined job in a cubicle or look sick patients then arrive home sleepy to the bone like my dad. I want to be so much more, to help pay off my parents debts, help build my church a building that's permanent and move kids. I really want to become a rapper, not a rapper who's mainstream pop , a rapper who speaks the truth, who presents God and troubles in a way that people can relate. Or even write a book and change people's perception of life and its obstacles.every of these seem achievable and a lot more appealing to me.Then coming home sleepy and waiting for retirement like you want your life to end. Maybe im just rambling but this is how i feel. How do you think i can look the benefits in those jobs? How do you think i can be motivated to keep going?

Open Question: can i be stressed without knowing it?

I have a really high stress job working in customer service and I just recently started life as an adult paying bills and rent. I have a lot of reasons to be stressed, my step dad who is legally blind lost his job and my mom is unable to work, my relationship with my boyfriend is very rocky, I have some debt, I'm always worried about money, my car recently messed up. Anyway I noticed I have been sick a lot with upset stomach and I have trouble sleeping at night. I also find I'm always sleepy and I'm even having trouble speaking at work! I've noticed I've been clenching my teeth a lot like while driving and trying to snooze. I don't really feel stressed and I don't show it. Could I just not know I'm stressed?

Resolved Question: Who's right and who's wrong? Please don't be mean.?

OK, there are two opposing views, and I won't say which belongs to who, so feel free to talk your mind. One of us wants to move to a home that we had set up to rent. It would use almost every of our tax return and we wouldn't be guaranteed able to stay there past two months. The person that wants this wants to go because every of the friends/family live close that area. This person made lots of arrangements to move, and at one time both of us were in agreement about this. One of us has changed our mind, and would rather stay here for another year to pay off debts. This person already has a job in town, although that job may be in jeopardy for whatever reason. Is there any compromise??????

Open Question: I have several specific ?'s about getting a Master's in Library Sciences?

I live in Dallas, TX with a B.F.A. in photography, wanting a career change to become a librarian. I'm thinking of going through the LIS program at the University of North Texas because they are ALA-accredited, local, they do an online/on-site combination program, they will set me up with work-study experience, and I've heard they are fairly well though of for their program. Their advisor estimated $1,000 per class for 12 courses in two years. I'll be supporting myself completely while trying to take classes and work the PT work-study. Questions: Does anyone have an opinion of the UNT MLIS program? About online study? Can anyone describe how they made the financial side work out? Can anyone recommend websites for grants or scholarships? Can you name specific scholarships you'd received? Are there employers out there that do tuition assistance even if you're pursuing a graduate degree and just working part time? I'm mainly concerned about how to make time to study, do the work-study, and work another part time job to help with bills and food. I hate the idea of mounting debt for years, but it seems like the average salary I'm seeing makes it worth it??

Open Question: Question about credit card debt?

Okay so one of my credit cards that I haven't paid on in 3 years caused me to receive an arbitration letter in the mail from my county court. I called the law firm that owns my account and told them we needed to work this out. The total amount they told me I owed to the credit card company was $3800 and about $1000 or so of that is every interest and fees from the c.c. company. The law firm said they would take $120 a month for 36 months but that comes to $4320. I am waiting on the paperwork they are sending me with the payment agreement but would anyone be able to tell me why they are making me pay more than my credit card debt? Any help would be great thanks!

Open Question: Am I Eligible for an unemployment? Pls. Help?

I had being working for this company for 2 1/2 years, and I had been wanting to move forward and wanted to receive a new job, after months of searching, I got hired by this company. They waited 2 weeks for me to start working for them, I thought everything will run smoothly. My first week working there I found out that I was pregnant, I had told my supervisor right away because I thought it would be fair to let them know since I was new there and since I am replacing somebody (my mistake). She had told me to keep it to myself, so I thought that she was okay with me being pregnant. The following week, I couldn't receive up , I was vomiting, so I had to call in sick. During the day, my supervisor called me and fired me. I think that it was so unfair that she did that. They never gave me a chance, to prove how a good worker I was. I wasn't ready to lose my job, I am swimming in debt already. It's been 2 months now, It's difficult to look for a job, especially if your pregnant. I have no idea if I am elgible for an unemployment. Since I was on probation when they fired me, I don't know if I can file a claim. I tried to call EDD for an advice but I can't receive through.. Hoping somebody here will give me an advice.

My girlfriend needs to pay off some immediate debt totalling $1200.00 Her credit is excellent so that part is not the issue. I know the bank does not look at things like that but I know for interest reasons it does count. Wow I wish this every makes sense. If somebody could please help that would be great! Thanks!

Open Question: Stylists! I am need of your help terribly.?

Okay. So as the story goes "Blondes have more fun" eh? Well, I'd thought as much too. My sister came over the other night & the idea to dye her hair came up. So we decided to act on it. Her hair is a natural light brown, we bought a box of "Bleach Blonde" hair dye. And dyed her hair. 35 minutes later, her hair is orange. Correction. Blondish-Orangeish. Either way, its terrible. Should we wait a while to dye it back? Or go over it again with the same color? And if we have to wait? How long exactly? I'd completely be in your debt to who ever answers this ? ha ha. It's a matter of life or terribly bad hair :) Thanks in advance!

Open Question: Need some good solid credit advice!!?

Tyring to receive a low interest rate mortgage and the rules state no collections are allowed unless paid 6 months prior. A verizon bill from 2002 went unpaid and was incorrect, I disputed they removed. Now I find out that Debt Recovery Solutions purchased the debt and dated it as 2007 on my credit report. I do not believe this is legal below the FDCRA, and I even offered to pay 70% to remove (they wanted check over phone I want agreement in writing). WHat are my options, should I argue that the debt occured in 2002 and should be aged out or is it legal for me to write a check with a date 6 months ago so as I can clear this up and receive the mortgage..... Also hve a 153.00 Medical collection on my account. I can pay in full but need this off my credit six months ago. Again, can I write the check with a 6 month prior date or is there another way to remove a medical bill??

Open Question: Need info on MBA and which kind to get?! First college grad in family looking for info and direction! HELP PLZ?

Okay, I know this is really, really long. But I desperately need your help. Please! I'm the first person in my family graduate college. I'm really interested in pursuing higher (grad school) education, but I really know nothing about it and have no one to ask about it. I complete my bachelors in Political Science at the end of next semester. I ended up majoring in it only because I'm interested in current events and one particular professor nice of encouraged me to do it. I don't regret it by any means, but given the knowledge I have today, I would have chosen a different major. If I have known anything about what majors are and what they actually mean, jobs that are available and future employment/income implications etc. I definitely would have gone with other interests I like equally, but would have been more beneficial in the long run. SO, I'm interested in getting an MBA. Mostly because I think I'd be really good in management and have an interest in it, but also because I'm not entirely sure what I want to do when "i grow up" and it occurs to me that an MBA will open opportunities without closing others. (as opposed to a public policy degree that would leave me screwed if I hated the jobs out there that were available). Also, given the economy, it seems like a solid investment in that I'll always have job opportunities. The problem is, I know NOTHING about getting an MBA. I don't know the best schools, or what the specializations available are. I don't know what the specializations mean in the classroom or as far as job opportunities are considered. I don't know what nice of GPA I have to have, how much it generally costs, if scholarships are available, or which are the best schools to attend. I don't know who to receive recommendation letters from, or how many are expected. Is it ok to go to the school you got your undergrad at or better to attend a new school? How important are school ratings from financial times etc? How much time should I spend in the workforce before attempting my MBA? It seems like if its too long, I might lose focus and not go back. Too soon, and I'd lose the valuable work experience that would make the degree more beneficial and easily utilized. Any information or resources you have would be helpful! About my qualifications: I do know I have to take the GMAT (I plan on doing this next year). By the time I graduate I should have a 3.7 GPA from Southern Methodist University. I transferred from a community college and got a scholarship (i'm hoping for some sort of financial assistance/grants/scholarship for grad school?). I have no extracurriculars as I work 3 jobs to support my mom and myself while in school without incurring thousands in debt. I'd like to stay in Dallas, or at least Texas, but I'm not 100% attached. I know that I've heard SMU (my current school) and UTD have highly rated/good MBA programs. I was also looking at a MBA program UT has in dallas (but not through UTD). PLEASE HELP!

Open Question: Do I still have the right to send a ceast and desist letter after receiving arbitration papers?

I made a payment last year in July but could not follow up with more payments due my financial situation. I know I have a debt with the company but I'm not sure if the amount on the arbitration is the amount I actually owe. I want the collection agency to cease contacting me. I am willing to pay the debt but in tiny increments. I have tried to talk to them before but they want the entire amount paid in full. I do not have the money to pay it right now. They gave an option of paying 75% of the amount instead of the full but I do not have the money due to being laid off. My fear is they will just send a summons next.

Open Question: What is a caveat, and what can it do to interfere with a sale of a property?

Heres the story: My dad once met a women, and they decided to have kids. He later broke up with his common law wife, and settled with her generously. He then bought a home for them to stay in, and charged her 1/3 of the rent he could have asked. He moved on and had me and my sister with a new wife, and still pays the mortgage on that home today. Due to to the economy, he is forced to sell this home. His ex-wife, however, beleives she owns half the home. This is completely untrue because my dad is the only person on the deed. His ex-wife expects half the selling price, approx. $300,000. This is ridiculous, because she owns no part in the home. My dad, being a generous man, is willing to give her $50,000 from the sale of the home, half of what is left over after paying back his debts. She continues to refuse this offer, and has now placed a caveat on the home making it difficult to sell. My question is: 1: What is a caveat and what can it do to interfere in the sale of the home. 2: What else can she do to make life difficult for my dad? We every reside in British Columbia, Canada. The best answer will be awarded promptly to the most specific and accurate answer. Thanks alot for your help!

Open Question: An old First Person RPG I need to know the name =(?

I used to play this game on windows 95 its was a first person 3-D RPG, I remember the story line. It starts out and you leave a Chryo Chamber and you have to make your way to a building that is living quarters, you're in the future and the atmosphere is interactive, but it appears that the building has been abandoned quite quickly. You walk through the building and you can hear to peoples voice mail at their doors and some doors are open and you can go in and look at yourself in the mirror and flush the toilet and read their voice mails. Eventually after going through the building you find a chryo chamber which teleports you to a building with a huge door that requires a pass code located somewhere in the previous building (which I had never found) I remember specific things like when you receive into the chamber to teleport it says "De materializing please stay very still... etc" in a lady's voice. For it's time it had very good graphics and it reminded me of the doom engine. If anyone could help me I would be forever in their debt because since then I've lost the CD for it. It wasn't an online MMORPG, just an RPG, and it's in the future. I played it about a decade ago and I haven't heard about it since. It was first person and there was no fighting that I had made it to yet, it was basically you running around trying to figure out where everyone had gone to. I remember the label of the game being a biohazard style symbol.

Open Question: Dollar going to collapse soon?

WIllem Buiter, who is a former monetary committee member says that the dollar is going down in 2-5 years. I have also been predicting this for a while. What do you guys think? "The past eight years of imperial overstretch, hubris and domestic and international abuse of power on the part of the Bush administration has left the US materially weakened financially, economically, politically and morally," he said. "Even the most difficult-nosed, Guantanamo Bay-indifferent potential foreign investor in the US must recognise that its financial system has collapsed." He said investors would, rightly, suspect that the US would have to generate major inflation to whittle away its debt and this dollar collapse means that the US has less leeway for major spending plans than politicians realise. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/4125947/Willem-Buiter-warns-of-massive-dollar-collapse.html

Open Question: new bf things moved really fast I I have a key my stuff is there but he's acting weird. Sorry this is so long?

I work with my (now) BF but never noticed him until Dec 12th at our Corp Christmas party we hung out afterward went to his home. After that we have been seeing each other almost everyday and he calls me almost everyday never go more than 24 hours with out talking. I have been staying at his home and have quite a few clothes over there I do laundry there as well my son has toys over there and sleeps in his spare bedroom when we are over there he's three. We cook dinner together every the time I usually bring the food he gets the drinks. I have realized that he is in such bad debt and he is constantly borrowing money from his family. I have a key to his home but I don't use it I always use the doorbell or knock. I adore the way he touches me and we finish each others sentences and are always laughing. He has ADD and Anxiety problems and takes Xanax and Aderoll but he takes more than he is supposed to and that bothers me. I have ADD as well but haven't taken medicine since I was 16 I am now (22) he is (30). He says he's never been in a relationship like this before (with a kid) and he learns things from us. I help tidy his home and I like doing it. Today he called right after work we talked for a while and he was on his way to a Docs appointment. he called me later and asked if I had any money he could borrow and went into a long explanation about stuff but wouldn't tell me exactly what he needed the money for. He started talking about how he spent $40 bucks on drinks (only cause he bought more stuff than milk and soda which HE decided to do I wasn't with him) and $50 bucks on food(every I told him to receive was chicken but he got air freshener and eggs etc. etc.). When I asked why he was spending money he didn't have and didn't just tell me (I would have got some of the food) he didn't answer the question and started getting a bit defensive saying he's buying food for three and he doesn't usually keep that much food in his possess fridge and how he's not used to that. (Mind you I have brought the food over every the other times mostly because I need to cook the meat I have and since I'm over there why not cook it there and share I like it!) I told him I could loan him $20.00 bucks insinuated about more I once AGAIN reiterated he SHOULD NOT SPEND MONEY HE Can't ( I feel that he should trust me enough to tell me he doesn't have it! (BTW we had sex for the first time Friday 3 1/2 days ago and a few times in between) So he calls me and I answer and he was OUT IN FRONT of my home! didn't even tell me he was coming over! got the money I went to give him a hug and got a half a** one :( said he had someone in the car he was going to drop him off and he might be back because his pal only lived a few blocks away that was 9:00 it is 11:10 he hasn't called. I don't know guys? Any thoughts? I don't want to seem every emotional crazy too him or anything! but I don't know what to think or what my next move should be. Maybe we moved too quick. Help!!!!!!

Open Question: What are my refund, rebate or FHA options as a first time home buyer in Los Angeles?

As a first time home buyer in Los Angeles, CA - with a take home of about 100k/yr, married, without debt and good credit - would I qualify for an FHA loan with a low down payment? Will I receive a federal rebate or refund? What other options are out there that can help me with my purchase?

Open Question: So what have we learned in 2 millennia?

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero - 55 B.C.
